Name: Zennith
Breed: German Shepherd
Age: Approx. 5 Years as of April 2019
Sex: Female
Good with Dogs: Yes, though no small dogs.
Good with Cats: No
Good with Kids: Yes, although older teenagers if any are preferred.
Heartworm Status: Negative. Zennith had heartworms and has recently had her injections. We expect her to be negative at the end of her rest period portion of heartworm treatment.

Zennith came from a tough family situation by way of Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare (animal control). Zennith spent the first portion of her life living with her then mate, Apollo, and two of their puppies, all of whom are currently with us. While their owner truly did love them, none of them received adequate medical care and were in a half-starved, terrified state when they came to us in late 2018. From what we know, they had spent their lives living outside exclusively and had rarely met other dogs. They were scared, defensive, and worried about their survival. After many months of gentle and persistent socialization and getting her up-to-date on medical care, Zennith is ready to find her forever home!

Zennith is a maternal, solid girl that tips the scale at 75 pounds. Her thick fur and sweet personality remind us of a teddy bear. She has learned to walk on a leash with us, and appeciates having a “safe zone” in the form of her crate. She is working hard to learn about potty training and is doing better by the day. Zennith is a highly intelligent girl that learns well and pays close attention to her handler. When she first meets people, she is a little stand off-ish until she realizes that they are her friend. Because of this, Zennith may need multiple meeting with her new family before she is ready to hop in the car with them and go home. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis with our manager. When Zennith is comfortable with her people and surroundings, she opens up like the delicate blossom that is her personality. She is loyal to her handler and focused on learning. While she isn’t overly playful and is quite serious, she is a good girl that appreciates all that she is given. She is gentle and an example of what it means to be a strong survivor of tough situations. Zennith is ready for her forever family that can continue to show her the ropes of being part of a family!
